The tool fetches server-rendered HTML and checks the SEO tags crawlers usually read first.

This does not render JavaScript. Important SEO tags should exist in the initial HTML response.

FAQ

Common SEO issues

These are common reasons a page may look weak, unclear, duplicated, or hard for search engines to understand.

Why is my meta description missing in Google?

Google may rewrite snippets based on the search query. Still, every important page should have a clear meta description because it helps search engines and social previews understand the page.

Is having more than one H1 bad?

It is not always fatal, but one clear H1 usually makes the page topic easier to understand. Use H2 and H3 headings for sections instead of repeating H1s.

Why does noindex matter?

If a page has a noindex robots tag, search engines are told not to include it in search results. That is useful for private, duplicate, or low-value pages, but bad for pages you want to rank.

Why is my page title too long or too short?

A very short title may not explain the page clearly. A very long title may be truncated in search results. A practical title is usually descriptive, unique, and around 30–60 characters.

Why does the SEO checker say my content is thin?

Thin content means the page may not give enough useful information for its topic. Some pages are naturally short, but important SEO pages should usually answer the user’s question clearly and completely.

Do missing image alt tags hurt SEO?

Missing alt text can hurt accessibility and image SEO. Important images should have descriptive alt text. Decorative images can use an empty alt attribute, but product, tutorial, and content images should usually describe what is shown.

What is a canonical URL and why does it matter?

A canonical URL tells search engines which version of a page is preferred. It helps avoid duplicate content problems when the same page can be reached through multiple URLs, tracking parameters, categories, or filtered views.

Can a wrong canonical tag hurt rankings?

Yes. If a page points its canonical tag to the wrong URL, search engines may treat another page as the preferred version. This can stop the current page from ranking or being indexed as expected.

Why are Open Graph tags included in an SEO check?

Open Graph tags do not directly replace normal SEO tags, but they affect how pages look when shared. Better social previews can improve clicks, trust, and visibility when people share your content.

Why does Google show a different title than my title tag?

Google may rewrite titles when it thinks another heading or page text is more useful for the search result. Common causes include vague titles, keyword stuffing, duplicated titles, missing brand context, or titles that do not match the page content.

Are internal links important for SEO?

Yes. Internal links help search engines discover pages and understand which pages are related. They also help visitors move from one useful page to another. Important pages should not be isolated.

Do external links hurt SEO?

Normal external links do not automatically hurt SEO. Useful links to trusted sources can help users. Be careful with spammy, paid, affiliate, or untrusted links, and use the right attributes such as rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" when needed.

Why does structured data or schema matter?

Structured data helps search engines understand the type of content on the page, such as articles, FAQs, products, breadcrumbs, reviews, or how-to content. It can also make some pages eligible for enhanced search results.

Why does my page return a non-200 status?

Important pages should normally return HTTP 200. If a page returns 301, 302, 404, 403, 500, or another status, search engines may not treat it as a normal indexable page. Check redirects, permissions, server errors, and broken URLs.

Can WordPress SEO plugins create duplicate meta tags?

Yes. Duplicate title, description, canonical, or Open Graph tags can happen when a theme and SEO plugin both output metadata, or when multiple SEO/social plugins are active. Duplicate tags can confuse search engines and social platforms.

Why does this tool show different results than Google Search Console?

This tool checks the current server-rendered HTML. Google Search Console may show data from Google’s last crawl, canonical decisions, indexing status, JavaScript rendering, or historical issues. Use both together for a fuller picture.

Does this tool render JavaScript?

No. It checks server-rendered HTML. Important SEO information should be present in the initial HTML response whenever possible. If titles, descriptions, canonical tags, or headings only appear after JavaScript runs, crawlers may not see them reliably.
